They Watch “100 Pilots in 100 Days!”

Review of “100 Pilots in 100 days” by Anne Butcher

As I was scrolling through posts about Sex and the City, I saw that the page “100 Pilots in 100 Days” reviewed the pilot for the series Sex and the City and I automatically started to cringe. Wondering why I cringed? because I know the SatC pilot is HORRID, I love the show so much but I know the pilot is not a good reflection of the show moving forward. when I read her review it really reflected the exact same thoughts I had about the pilot. You can find her thoughts on this pilot in detail here: https://butcherthoughts.com/2020/02/15/100-pilots-in-100-days-sex-and-the-city/

Anne’s page is very unique in the way it doesn’t focus on just one show, but it reviews multiple shows pilot’s. This is actually a smart concept because you will have no limit to the amount of content you can put out, because hasn’t TV been around since the 50s! Also this format allows for a wide audience since people can read it without being familiar with the content of the blog. It can be used as a way to motivate or demotivate a reader from watching a certain series. We also have people, like me, who may never watch a show but likes to see what the hype is about by reading reviews instead of wasting hours by watching actual episodes.

The way she structures the actual reviews is appealing also. She sites the facts about the show first, then she lets the reader know where it can be watched, she transitions into her likes and dislikes of the show, then finishes with if she would continue to the second episode based off her opinions of the pilot. I feel like this format of ideas is easy to process and allows for the reader to get the important info clearly and quickly. This is nice because I know sometimes we can be a little lazy and don’t want to read through essays of information to get the main points of the article.

You’re the sweetest! Seriously, knowing someone else read my blog and found it interesting enough to write about it on THEIR blog made my day. (Plus your notification at 11:55 and reminded me that I’d forgotten to click the upload button on today’s pilot review. So thanks).

Also, if you’re a fan of Sex and the City, I’d highly recommend The Bold Type, which is like a millennial version. It’s on Hulu.
